I call those barn pigeons, " rats with wings!" We had the same problem at the
boarding stable I was at before.
Two things we did that were successful.
1. Long term solution. You can buy bird feed that has birth control in it so
they stop populating. Problem is that you have to always be feeding them until
they finally die off. Hawks and Eagles help in that area.
2. A local feed/bird supply store locally (Feather Haven in San Martin, CA)
used to buy them from us! They would give us the traps to put up in the barn.
The traps wouldn't hurt the birds. We would bring the traps into Feather Haven
and get $5 a bird! They probably sold them for feed . Invariable some of those
birds would return - so we would catch them again and sell them back. One bird
had unique markings, so we knew him. We caught him and sold him 4-5 times!
Good luck - they are messy and dirty birds.
