I know this was last weeks topic and we all probably read more than we
wanted to, but I've talked to one of my directors and I have a few answers.
The problem is I didn't like very many of the answers. Oh well.
First of all the $25,000 computer cost that we all saw in the budget.
Yes it is an annual expense. AERC has signed a 2 year contract for $5 per
member times 5000 members as maintenance on the computer program. When I
shared many of the concerns from this forum about riders dropping their
membership because they only ride 4 or 5 rides, I found that the non-rider
fee has been increased to $10. So then when I said that AERC would now get
$13 to simply type in a non-members name, I found the the managers will now
pay $4 per rider instead of $3. And if you just want the newsletter, the
subscription rate went from $26 to $40.
Obviously if you are reading this you must have at least a minimal amout
of computer knowledge. So do you share my questions about the $25,000? Did I
miss some discussion before all these rate increases were implemented? So
what should we do?
