I belong to PNER (Pacific Northwest Endurance Rides). I just paid my $25
individual membership for next year. Most of their rides are AERC
sanctioned, and you get a discount (about $5) on the ride fee, if you are
and AERC member. But you still pay the ride fee....they run about $50.
What's this about AERC rides costing $5 for members???!!???
As many of you know I am a newcomer to endurance riding. And as such,
have not done any rides yet. The rides that I have planned on doing, and
will probably end up doing, will be PNER rides. Because they are close to
me, and I know people who do them. I had been planning on becoming an
AERC member, to get the discount at rides, and in order to get the
newsletter and such. Is this worth $65? * NOT * !!!! Nevermind....I'll
just stick with PNER.
Count me in as one of those people who will probably do more training and
dreaming, than actual competing. The rides that I do will be limited
distance, and this is definitely NOT worth $90 a year in membership fees,
PLUS ride fees!
