[endurance] high membership fees

I am a member of N.A.T.R.C. (north american trail ride conference) Single
membership is $30 and family membership is $35. Lifetime is $250. It is a
great organization that promotes competitive trail riding. Horses and tack
necessary to compete is the same as endurance.

I have ridden both endurance and competitive trail, as do many people.
They both have a lot to offer. If you are interested in NATRC check out
http://www.txranger.com look under associations for contacts in your
region.

I would highly recommend competitive trail along with endurance. They are
both great sports that stress friendship, horse care and development,
horsemanship, and milage awards. I have just completed 1000 miles.

The people in both sports are great. There are misconceptions spread about
both sports. The best way is to see for your self. NATRC rides are always
looking for P&R workers, safety riders, and ride helpers in general or you
can just go to watchl. This is a great way to check out the sport before
you ride,.

See you on the trail!, have a great ride, and remember there is only room
for two things when training and riding your horse/mule,--- patients and
humor.
