Gwen D. had some comments about people with misinformed opinions of Arabs. I
like to point out to people with that attitude that Ben Amil, who was 5th in
the Big South Fork 50 this past weekend, is also my 9-year old daughter's Pony
Club horse. Although he is endurance fit and not "show-shape fat", she also
does quite well with him in small shows in our area. She rides him because he
is the safest horse available. He is well-mannered and sensible, in large
part because he is not kept in a stall and overfed like many halter horses.
I'd get a reputation for being high-strung and crazy, too, if I was kept in a
12 x 12 room for 23 hours out of every day!
