I'm so sorry to hear about your TB mare. I had a TB gelding die several
years ago, very similarly. He was 10 yrs. old. He was fine in the
pasture, we brought him up and he got a little wobbly walking to the
barn, and just laid down and died. It took possibly 15 minutes. The vet
did a full necropsy, and he ruptured a coronary artery. So, he died of a
heart attack. I've also seen horses that died of cerebral hemorrages.
You can never predict these things and though not common occurances, they
happen suddenly and quickly.
Just some possibilities.
