I am in east central Alabama, and boy did we take a beating. All of the
people that I know are out of electricity, phone, water, etc. I am
lucky, I have a phone, and we have gas stove and water heater, so we can
eat and bathe! Of course, our freezer full of meat had to be cooked, so
my husbands employees are eating good. All of the horses and other
animals in our area did really well. There were numerous huge trees that
came up by the roots, but the livestock had the good sense? to stay out
of the way. A friend of mine left her horses in the barn, and she lost
most of the roof, but no horses, thank God! Our county has been declared
a disaster area, but the animals are ok. Personally, I really needed a
vacation, with school, working full time, training dogs 3 nights per
week, and the horses, so the hurricane was wonderful!!
I'm going to take another nap!
