I also got this type of problem with my arabian stallion especially on the
white socks.
I used a dermatological lotion made in France and it works fine (5 days and
the most symptoms are gone).

This product call Predniderm(made/or distributed by Vetoquinol) and it
contains Neomycin, Prednisolone acetate, Phenylmercuric nitrate
