Nick,
The Lancaster ride is on a cattle ranch in the scrub oak and
juniper area west of Palmdale. As Tommy says, it's not stunning scenery
but it was well marked last year and well run. The route is mostly on
dirt roads and had 7000 feet of climbing. About average for a southern
Calif. ride. There was some long moderate downhill grades with small
rock and when I see these I predict a high pull rate. Last year 30% of
the starters in the 50 got pulled. (Too fast on the downhill rock)
The second day is the same as the first, not worth it unless you really
want the miles.
Hope this helps.
