The USENET, that this group is a part of, is primarily for the exchange of
ideas. It is not a bulletin board for the posting of personal messages.
We should not be using it to schedule trips, meetings, etc. It can be
usefull for learning about trips and meetings, but then all correspondence
regarding scheduling people into those events should be handled via private
e-mail.

Check out some other news groups in other areas for some example of the
kinds of discussion that goes on.

Yes they can be very rude and personal cometimes but there is usually
none of the one to one conversations happening that I see here. this is
very cluttered. I belong to several computer lists and get very little
mail from them.

Just MY OPINION !
