MSM, MethylSulfonylMethane, is an excellent source of Sulfur for us and our
animals.
The amount of Sulfur needed daily is trace, not grams.
MSM does have anti-inflammatory effects in amounts much higher than that used
for Sulfer supplementation.
Those selling MSM have caused the buyers to believe that you are feeding MSM
for its Sulfur, and that a side effect is the anti-inflammatory benefit when
in reality MSM is being fed for anti-inflammatory effects.
MSM, when fed as a source of trace Sulfur, is not detected. MSM, when fed as
an anti-inflammatory, may be detected.
The bottom line is that if you are feeding something that has an
anti-inflammatory action, even if you are fooled into believing that your
horses need it due to a lack of it in their feed, your horse is on medication
and should not be competed. If it has an anti-inflammatory effect, it is a
drug!
