I have tired a lot of different shoes. The water we ride in down here
tends to shorten the life. I usually wear light weight hiking boots. That
way if I have to walk over uneven ground I am comfortable. The best shoes
I have found and they have held up well also is a low top hiking (or maybe
it is a walking) shoe made by Rockport. I got them at one of these cut
rate factory outlet shoe stores about two years ago. These shoes are light
weight, give a tremendious amound of support and are great for walking.
Last year in the 94 OD when I was walking along that knif ridge line made
of rock between Kanavy's house and Camp Roosevelt I didn't even notice the
rocks. They are coming apart on the inside at the ball of the foot and I
need to find a new pair. With my luck they won't be producing that model
any longer.
