Hi Everyone--
I just spoke with Miki Morrison at the AERC office. I asked her about
our doing something at the AERC convention in Reno this coming March.
She said it sounded like a great idea, and said we could do what we
wanted. I suggested the following:
1- space for a PC and a modem to have a live display of the Endurance
home page. She said sure- great idea! Who out there has a nice
system with modem/netscape we can borrow for the show? I might be
able to borrow a giant screen monitor from work.
2- We can make up some nice flyers to put beside the system that
explains the internet, e-mail, etc. Any volunteers on that one?
We can also hand them out at the
3- Meeting! Miki will put us on the schedule! We can have an actual
conference/seminar presentation type of thing. We can follow it up
with an informal party, or something. I said I don't want to have a
thousand chairs, or a prime time spot. Maybe a short session after
one of the big ones, or between sessions. I nominate Linda Cowles as
our speaker, because she sounds like she might be good at it. We can
just tell everyone about our mailing list, the home page, and hand out
the flyers. (and buttons) Perhaps a question and answer session, and
whatever we can come up with.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I will keep in touch with
Miki to firm up the time, room, etc, etc. I still don't know the
exact date of the convention, but I think it is the weekend of March
1. It is in Reno, Nevada. I highly recommend attending if you have
not been to one yet. The shopping is great at the trade show, there
are great seminars and lectures, and you get to meet a whole bunch or
endurance riders.
