Thanks to everyone concerning the conditioning advice. I hope to begin
workouts fairly soon. With the weather having been rainy and depressing
here in the Pacific Northwest (causing the trails in the area to be
closed), we worked on A LOT of dressage and english pleasure, in the
arena - as some of you mentioned in your responses. The past two weeks
have been absolutely gorgeous here in Oregon....but, of course I
couldn't (and still can't) take advantage of it. My poor horse came down
with a respiratory infection on last Friday; high fever, snotty nose,
coughing, the works. In about ten days we'll be moving back home for
the summer (we're at Oregon State U. right now). At home the windy
beaches will only be 15 minutes away, so hopefully he will build a lot
of stamina from exercising on the dunes.

Thanks again. I truly hope that his spooky behavior will become a thing
of the past...or if not, at least a little more manageable.
