[RC] HR monitor funny story - sandra

My friend and I were doing our 1st 75 in Vermont in 2008.
We both have a Garmin 305.
On one of the loop, we did not realized we had switched HRM watches.

Jen's horse has a high HR at a trot and my mare would be much lower at a trot.

We kept slowing down to a walk because I was worried Tika was stressed since her HR was much higher than usual... and Jen was impressed how low her horse's HR was. Made it only worst to me, since we train all the time together and it was the 1st time we and our horses were doing more than a 50.

We didn't realize We switched watches till the next day...duh! Good lesson learned though ;)

Also learned not to worry when the HR says it's at 220, usually means wires are off the horse or if it looses HR, usually you can tell if the horse is still alive, right?

So as everyone says it's only a tool, it's up to you to use it wisely.
