Only happens once per horse, though, huh?
 
When it happened to Traveller it caught in the little hollow above his hind hoof and when he held is foot off the ground it curled up around the damned thing and made it stick in good.

I had a horse that had learned to investigate and touch scary things with his nose. This totally backfired when he came to the sonoran desert and touched a 'jumping cholla' with his nose :((((
