Re: [RC] Favorite food at vet checks - Truman Prevatt

Really depends on the mileage and the weather. At 80 miles in my first 100 ate a pound of cold based beans out of someone's cooler ( I thank them for that) - they hit the spot, however, it grossed the ride vet out.  I've barfed after eating a Power Bar. I've gotten an instant high on watermelon on a hot ride just to crash five miles down the trail.  I craved a cheeseburger at 55 miles at the OD just to have it keep me from passing out when it arrived at the next vet check. The best damn cheeseburger I've ever had.

I could live on chocolate and cashews on a ride. Some folks like to have a glass of wine at checks on a 100 - pain killing I am sure.  I think what people like to eat is a function of the people. Women and men are probably different on food. It also I think is a function of the distance they have gone.
