[RC] horse history, reasons for death, and your email address - Michael MaulIn response to:" It could be wholly voluntary so that, if I know my deceased horse is an AERC member, I can voluntarily fill in a space describing how my animal died. I'd love to get a sense of how many high mileage horses live into their 30's (betcha lots do!), and that sort of thing."*Very* few owners of horses in the mileage program notify AERC when their horse dies. There are 33,177 horses listed in the AERC mileage program from when the program started and according information provided by members - only 674 are listed as deceased. There's a lot of reasons why owners don't notify AERC but it illustrates the small amount of information that would be available. If you want to update your records - check the horses listed under your name at http://www.doublejoy.com/erol/aerc/lookup/lookup.asp then login to your members page at http://www.doublejoy.com/aerc/mbr/ and update your horse's information. While you are doing that - or even if you are not updating your horse - please check your *email address*. That's an important item for AERC to reach you as well as making it available correctly in the members directory. If you have a spam filter from your ISP that only allows approved addresses - consider adding sqlmail@xxxxxxxx to your allowed list so you can receive email from AERC when the alerts from your members page are sent, reminder messages, or mails sent with urgent notifications to groups of members.
