New Mileage Awards for LD and Endurance

I spoke with Barney Fleming, DVM and Dean Jackson and it has been approved 
that a new distance award for BLM Mustangs will be set up for the year 2002 
ride season.

I know that most competitors compete on Arabians but, after a year of 
negotiating with the Bureau of Land Management(BLM), I have convinced them 
to sponsor two separate awards for total yearly mileage.

One will be for Limited Distance and one for Endurance.  This will be 
awarded to the BLM Mustang with the most mileage.

I am hoping that this will not only boost AERC membership by shedding light 
on a different group of horse owners but also promote Mustang adoptions.

The brand numbers on competing mustangs will be verified through the BLM. 
For anyone on different lists please post this notice.  I would greatly 
appreciate the help.  If anyone has any questions regarding this please send 
email questions to AERCmustangs@hotmail.com   I will be running interference 
for the BLM and AERC regarding this matter.
