Re: shoeing angles

Kathy says:
This farrier seems to be leaving a lot more toe on that I like, and Beau was starting to forge.  I asked him for more breakover, and he rolled the toes slightly on the shoe, but now Beau is forging worse and still seems to have delayed breakover in the fronts.

Comments?

Get a new farrier. I kept telling my farrier to shorten the toes. They kept getting longer. Little by little. I would tell him and he would say "Yeah, yeah, yeah" and wouldn't do it. So, I had no choice but to get a new farrier. The new farrier definitely keeps the toes short but doesn't do other things I like. I have yet to find a "perfect" farrier. I'm almost ready to start learning how to shoe. (I know how to trim, but not shoe)
