I have a couple of questions for those of you who have trained for/competed in the Tevis Cup. =)
First off, how did you train for it??
Were you shootin' for a certain time there and back on your training rides, and what type of terrain helped the most?
Did you "blow-out" in a couple of 100's before the Tevis or just train and do a few endurance rides (50's or 75's) and go into Tevis with those?
What made you feel that your horse (equine!) was Tevis material??
I have just recently begun in NATRC (2002 will be my second year) and have never done an endurance ride but I *feel* like my guy could possibly do it. He has heart, he loves the trail. and has gotten pretty good P+R's at the NATRC rides we went to last year. I know that's not enough to base a decision on but I am curious as to how others have done their training for Tevis. =)
