To:  Horse Lovers BASED ON THE RESULTS OF THREE STATE AUDITS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND CHARACTER CONDITIONS AT WILL ROGERS STATE PARK RELEASED PUBLICALLY ONLY THIS WEEK (OCTOBER 9, 2001), THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA HAS ORDERED THE REMOVAL OF ALL HORSES IN RESIDENCE AT THE PARK, AFTER NEARLY FIFTY YEARS OF CONTINUOUS EQUINE OCCUPATION. THE CONDITIONS AT THE PARK ARE A DIRECT RESULT OF THE STATE’S OWN NEGLECT AND OUR COMMUNITY AND OUR PARK ARE BEING MADE TO PAY THE PRICE. THIS DECISION WAS MADE WITHOUT GIVING THE RESIDENTS OF OUR COMMUNITY THE OPPORTUNITY TO ANALYZE THE REPORTS AND PROPOSE ALTERNATIVES.
