Heart Murmur

When my filly was born a year ago she was diagnosed with a heart murmur. Everyone told me "don't worry" it will probably go away, so I didn't worry. Now, she is one year old and the vet checked her the other day. She still has it, a systolic heart murmur. Now, I'm worrying. This filly was bred to be a race and endurance horse. Anyone have any information??
