Re: [RC] Leg conformation & Heart - Truman Prevatt

How to you tell a kid that has the heart to run the last
100 meters of an 800 to hold off all comers for a win, to fall to his knees
and barf his guts out at the end. How do you tell if a  a kid has the heart
that to play his hardest no matter what aches, pains and injuries he has.
How do you tell if a applicant to graduate school, medical school, law school,
etc. has the heart to send the endless hours deprived of sleep and family
to make it through - many don't. How do you tell if a horse has the heart
to keep ahead of all comers on the stretch run of a stakes race.

If someone knew they could make a bundle helping college sports programs,
professional sports programs, graduate school and professional school admissions,
etc.

Some people call it heart I call it plain old guts - it comes from deep inside
and there doesn't seem to be any visible sign except when you see it happen.

Heart to me is when you've ridden a tough trail all day & just when you
think you will get off & walk, your horse takes a deep breath &
motors up that last tough hill :)

I don't know, however, how to "see" it when looking at prospects.  In fact
I don't know how to tell if your horse has "it" until tried out on the trail.
