One thing a first timer might not think of...see what time the moon is
going to rise! I counted on a full moon once and it really lit things
up...2 hrs after I finished. :-P I can see that a full moon would be
great in open areas, but it really makes things worse at times. There
will be a dark shadow over a section of trail, and a beautiful patch of
moonlight over in the woods and it's hard to tell where the opening is.
We go down the trail re-writing Cat Steven's song: "I'm going jumping
over moon...shadows, moonshadows moonshadows! Leaping and hopping over
moon...shadows, moon shadows moonshadows!"
