I've never felt this was something to require "correction", because
it is just high spirits, so I try to prevent it. What I do is: 1) Simply
turn the horse to me - facing away from the direction he wants to go,
unhalter him but not release him (rope around his neck), then push him away
with my hand - and when he starts to turn, get out of the way. Or: 2)
Depending on the gate, take the horse through the gate, turn back, and with
me behind the gate, unlatch him and let him loose.
