[RC] response to replys re: wet/muddy corrals - Karen Clanin
thanks for the several replys. actually we started with DG in the pens
when we built the barn and have taken the corrals down several times and
had large loads brought in and spread with a tractor, put the pens back
up. even the DG wants to leave holes where they walk, those holes fill
with rain water and even the DG gets slushy in a big storm. have also put
in straight river sand -- corrals down, tractor to level, pens back up etc.
yes, we try to see that they drain well also. i have one client that uses
the cedar rest in her mule pens however they are all under a large pole
barn so not open to the heavy rains.....i'd think it would float away since
it is bark???
