Thank you Penny and everyone else who has responded!
My gut instinct has been telling me one thing, while
what I read says all sorts of things! :)
BTW, as someone who burned out on shows about 10 years
ago and has been just pleasure riding since (which
still includes lots of dressage work of course!), I've
been thrilled with my new distance riding experiences
and the people involved.
