    [RC] old dominion - PBrinkwort

<PRE>After reading the article on the Fort Valley Roundtable Ride in the Dec.
issue of Endurance News I am thinking of doing the Old Dominion 50 next june.
Since I come from the flatlands of Illinois I am looking for some
conditioning advice on preparing for this ride. Since I hear it is very rocky
there, what type of hoof protection should I consider (easyboots over shoes?,
shoes with pads? or what about those Equithotics shoes?). Finally, It would
be about a 12 hour drive for me to get there and since the farthest I have
ever gone with my horses is about 4, would it be better to do it over 2 days
or would it be ok to do it straight through. Thanks for any advice.
