    I rode the Pan American championship ride in Flagstaff in 1995 during a 
lightning storm.  There was a tree burning on the trail that had been hit by 
lightning.  I was riding back up the hill from Sedona in the middle of the 
night during the worst part of the storm.  I was wearing a vest fitted with 
10 one pound lead weights to meet the weight requirement for FEI.  It was 
taped on me with the signature of one of the FEI officials across the tape so 
I couldn't take it off without being disqualified.  Pretty interesting.
