RE: [RC] [RC] hay rack water tank - Karen Standefer
Hi, Kathy. I bought 3 of these (that fills up the hay
rack) and plumbed them all together and then ran a
hose with a valve on the bottom down the side of the
hay rack. The advantage of this is that I can also
feed my living quarters portion with the water from
above. I have only had the tanks one season, but I'm
happy with them so far. The water pressure, by
plumbing in this way, is excellent. We did not use
the hoses that come with the tanks to plumb with. We
purchased PVC pipe and fittings which will last
longer.
You can put 2 on the hay rack and still have room for
hay. But, I liked having the extra water as I
normally put my hay in the pickup or 1st stall (have a
full stud gate in there so that I can carry hay and
heavy things without risking it getting into the horse
area).
Karen
I'm thinking of asking for the hay rack water tank in
the SportTack catalog for xmas. Does anyone have this
(or similar one) - what do you think?
It holds 35 gallons, comes with a hose to use to get
water, and it looks like I could still fit 2 bales of
hay in the rack with it up there.
Thanks,
Kathy Kelly
