Re: [RC] Trailer Emergency Kit - Cheryl Ann
Hello Bonnie -
Here's what's in my Trailer Box right now -
1. Three reflective warning triangles.
2. Four flares.
3. Tire changing tool kit (includes WD-40, lug wrench & breaker bar, spare
lug nuts, Fix-a-Flat, tire gauge, Trailer-Aid ramp and two wheel chocks).
4. Orange safety vest w/ reflective stripes.
5. Work gloves, shop towels & Duct tape.
6. Old piece of foam camp mat to kneel on.
I keep it all (except for the Trailer-Aid) in a big black plastic toolbox.
For tow straps, I have a couple heavy nylon ones, 3-4" wide, one 20' and one
25', with eyes on both ends. I got mine used from where I worked (they are
used with indoor shop cranes), so I inspected them for signs of stress
(stretch, fray, etc.).
This is all in addition of course to the -
1. Trailer first-aid box (well-stocked). Bright orange box.
2. General tool box (tools, electrical things, hitch things, etc.). I'm very
well-stocked here.
3. Trailer emergency pail (2 halter/leads, 2 blinds, 1" x 40' cotton rope,
twitch, sharp sheath knife, bolt cutters). Orange lidded (w/seat) 5-gal
pail.
Since I only have a small 2-horse, (no DR), I keep everything in my truck
if/when I haul out somewhere.
Hope This Helps -

I want to put together a lit of helpful tools, flares, tow strap, etc, etc,
etc. So I can deal with whatever comes up when out on the road with my rig.
Send me your suggestions, please
