Oh, I *love* it when people comment on riding my Arab in my Parelli rope
halter. :) Really!!
I usually look down in horror and shout: 'OH MY GOD!! WE'RE OUT OF
CONTROL!!' (my horse is used to me shouting and waving stuff from his back
and usually either looks at me with bored eyes or goes for graze)
My alternate is to look at them sweetly, bat my eyes and say: 'Why? Does he
need one?'
Personally, I like giving and getting advice on the trail. I like to see
why people do certain things (or think they need to do certain things) and
love tweaking people's world view.
Owning an Arab has been an eye-opening experience for me (I've owned arabs
for the last five years) considering the number of ridiculous prejudices out
there.
There's no way to shut people up, so think up ways to play with their heads
when they say stupid things.
Sometimes you'll actually be surprised when out of the blue someone makes a
great suggestion you've never thought of.
