    I use the floating one right next to the fence, so that the
    cord has the least amt. of area accessable. So far, no
    problems. On nights where there is a "chance" of freezing,
    I feed right next to the water trough (a half a 55 gal.
    plastic drum) and since Ash is a "dipper" he keeps the
    water from freezing. That is, until the food runs out!
