Yakima Canutt was the name.....I just remembered it. Haven't thought of it
    for ages.

Ben Johnson was a horseman in Oklahona when "Fats" Jones needed horses. Ben
came out to CA with the trainload of horses, met Jones' daughter (I think
her name was Carol) and married her. Then he became a double and later a
star. In the 1950s, I loved all the John Ford-Merrian Cooper westerns that
starred Harry Carrey, Jr., Victor McLaglin, John Wayne, Pedro Armanderaz,
and Ben Johnson. (excuse misspelling of names, if so). I think I have all
    the facts straight.........
