Pros and cons depend on your situation. If it's dirt cheap for you, then
yes, it's pretty good source of fat (I think around 20%) and obviously
convenient. So, yeah, it's an 'alternative', though not necessarily a
better one. It depends on what your priorities are other than convenience.
However, there aren't any major nutritional pitfalls to it, although I
wouldn't suggest feeding more than a few pounds of it a day (and of course
introduce it slowly).
