[RC] Head tossing - Tim Worden
For my girl, Jayda, it's an Arab attitude thing. The
breeder mentioned she learned it from other more
dominant mares. She is now the alpha-mare.
Definitely an attitude/arrogance deal with her. Jayda
is beautiful and she knows it. Occassionally she'll
do it while riding, usually when she wants to move
out. We took it slow at the Hallelujah ride in
October and finished in the back. She did it quite a
bit cause she was bored, flipping the reins over her
head. After that I went to a running martingale just
to keep the reins from flipping. Since then she has
yet to do it while riding. This past weekend at JDs
ride we picked up the pace and finished 14th and she
didn't flip her head once the whole 30miles. Hard to
tell ya exactly what it may be since a lot of factors
have been mentioned from shoes, to saddle, to rider
position, uphills and downhills, to just being an Arab
thing.
