Welll, ours took more than one session, but everyone ties politely at our
house, now. We've had two that would just suddenly, for no reason, haul back
and fight the rope as hard as they could. A stout bungee with a panic snap
solved the problem. The bungee would stretch far enough back to let them
fight it out without trashing the trailer and hurting themselves.
After two or three good fights with themselves, and finding out that they
weren't going to be eaten by whatever monster they imagined, or let loose to
keep from getting hurt, they quit. Neither horse has done anything stupid in
nearly a year for the mare, and since a couple of months after we got the
gelding.
