Re: [RC] warts on muzzle - Andrea Day
Show people spend lots of money getting injections and fooling around with
warts. They'll go away, sometimes as soon as six weeks, sometimes as long as
a year. Old cowboys used to take just one wart with a pair of pliers and
crush it, or use their pocket knife and scrape one off, to make the warts go
away faster. For some reason this works--it stimulates the immune system is
what I was told. Usually warts around the muzzle are the fastest to go,
probably because they catch them on stuff as they root around. Warts around
the eyes and in the ears take the longest to get rid of, it seems. I hate
'em, but they don't hurt anything. Usually the horse that gets them is
fairly young and in an "ugly duckling" stage anyway, so I just hide 'em
behind a tree till they go away.
