[RC] Horse/Rider History Books re: PULL CODES - Stewart, Carrie

Excuse me for maybe looking at this from the simplest form but
having a log book follow a horse would be the best
    representation of the
horse from not only at vet/judges perspective but also an
    owners'
perspective. YES, it is brutally honest. YES, it gives the
    owner/rider
the opportunity to see and learn things about their horse and
    improve
upon them and maybe realize the horses' limitations. YES, it
    gives a
prospective buyer a TOTAL history on the horses' accomplishments
    or
failures and hopefully the reasons why. If I were going to pay a
sizeable amount of money for a horse to ride for the specific
    purpose of
doing endurance, I sure would like to know, not only what the
    horse has
accomplished but what his limitations might be to make an
    informed
decision on purchasing him or not. I am not going to say that
    all
sellers are dishonest, but some are not totally up front with
    all
information. This is similar to the IAHA's reporting of show
statistics. It not only shows if a horse won on a certain day
    but also
shows if that horse came in 2ond, 3rd... so on but it doesn't
    say that
maybe the horse had a stressful trailer ride and didn't show
    well. A
log book could clear those gray areas up.
As far as ride codes for the purpose of statistics... that is
what they should be... statistics. When we do studies of smoking
related illnesses, we don't say that 1 out of 100 lung problems
    can be
related to smoking and John Doe is that 1 person. We just
    collect the
data and give out the information in hopes we can change things
    for the
better or keep the going status quo if they are going well.
    	IMHO...
