How about if every horse that was pulled had to have a statement by the 
person responsible for the decision (vet or rider) as to why the horse was 
pulled, which would be used to determine the type of pull, and all pulls 
would be coded based on the statement.  The info would go to AERC and into 
permanent ride records but be PUBLISHED as DNF.  jeri
