I think that with a straight load trailer, that is the case. Have heard of
horses who indeed got head down, and fast braking, their neck took impact. I
am thinking this would not be as much of a risk for slant loads, and no risk
for those who haul horses backwards, or reverse slant. When I let my horses
stay loose in the trailer, they will turn and face backwards.
My largest pet peeve when hauling is people who let their horses hang their
heads OUTSIDE through the drop down windows as they go down the road. That
in my book is just stupid!!!!!! "Oh, isn't he cute with the wind whipping
through his forelock?" Cute until they see the damage a truck mirror,
tree, branch, kicked up rock, or even a bug in the eye can do..........
