[RC] pipe panels - Brenda L. Kossowan
Karen: Thanks for your observation on pipe panels. Whodathunkit?
Regarding keeping the foot clean while it heals, have you asked your vet
about a fibreglas wrap? Regretfully, two of my neighbours have had
equine senior citizens suffer deep cuts in the heel bulb after pawing
through barbed-wire fences. After a certain degree of healing, both
horses were put in casts that came to the bottom of the fetlock
(different horses - same vet clinic). It still required keeping the
horse somewhat confined, but certainly easier than putting on a new wrap
every day and worth every bit of the extra expense. Both horses have
healed very well are are returning to normal work. (Weelllll - Sam's 24
and he's never really been "normal." His owner says he's as lively as
ever and no sign of lingering problems.)
Trudging through the snow,
