    There IS a new code called SF, surface factors, to cover exactly that you
    are talking about....galls, wounds, etc. You are absolutely correct in your
    explanation.  The vet committee wants to know how many horses are lame, have
    metabolic considerations, etc.  This is how we are all going to learn more
    about our horses. We don't care whether the rider is dying, just what is
    going on with the horses! (Chuckle, chuckle)
