[RC] Legend for humans - Maryanne Stroud Gabbani
I've been hobbling about lately in rather more pain than usual so I
finally wandered by to see my favourite orthopedic surgeon...same guy
who removed the meniscus from my left knee about 2 yrs ago. He did the
usual stretch, flex, does this hurt routine and then told me that I
suffered from white hairs. I just about freaked thinking that he was
saying that I had hair inside my knees when he noticed the odd look on
my face and said "Arthritis, dear." So we did an x-ray and where there
are supposed to be empty places, my knee is pretty solid. Yuck. Anyway,
he suggested that if physio (and I have a great physio) and pain killers
didn't help, there were some shots (not cortisone) that they could give
me. Having paid $100 a shot for Legend for a couple of horses, I
recognised the shots at once and asked if it was hylauranic (sp) acid.
Yes, it is and it's going to cost me about $160 a shot. It has occurred
to me that this could be a lot cheaper if I get it from my vet and give
it to my bone man to administer...or is that crazy? Anyone know if it's
the same stuff?
