For anyone who is really interested in sorting out who is who and what is what, I would recommend the FEI website http://www.fei.ch/ ,which I listed on an earlier post as www.horsesports.org. but that is incorrect. You can also reach the FEI with www.horsesport.org  and it takes you to the first site I listed. There you will find the lists of who is who in the bureaucracy. You can check on which of your countries vets are on the lists as qualified judges, technical delegates, contact or event judges, stewards, or international judges among other things. I found to my surprise that Feisal Seddiq was not listed as a technical delegate for 2001-2002 although he was doing that job for us in 2000.  Maybe he let his membership lapse...but he is on the endurance committee along with Dr. Hallvard Sommerseth (Norway) who is the chairman, Prof. Jerry Gillespie (USA) deputy chairman, and members Mr. Faisal Seddiq Samea al Mutawa (UAE), Mrs Ann Caroline Bunting (UK), and  Mr Horst Mueller (GER).

If you are of the type that enjoys digging a bit you can follow the inception of the Endurance committee from a committtee to study endurance to its present form, you can check out EXACTLY what each of these delegates and committees is supposed to do according to the rules, and so on. I warn you, it isn't light reading but if you are going to have ANYTHING I very strongly recommend it.

It's worth noting that the Masters of Endurance series of rides is being run out of corporate offices in Paris, and our friend Feisal Seddiq is one of the main men. I'm looking forward to this weekend's ride to see how it works. Our local federation people seem to have very little concrete ideas about what is happening, and everyone is just waiting to see what Feisal does.

YIKES!  Did all the vets have to look at this horse or just a vet?  Were any of the vets from the US?  I know some of ours went over but don't know if they were official.  What a nightmare!  This just can't be happening!

I'm sure our riders and supporters are VERY frustrated; first, the trail and then the "organizers".

Yes, I will respond, and publicly. YES, the winning horse displayed a
pronounced gait abnormality. I was there.
