I do that too with the tights I buy. You should have seen my pinning two black patches to my butt the other night to make them less slippery. I felt like a contortionist , By squatting I find the right amount of stretch and placement :0}Instead of making whole tights I now modify the coolmax ones with leather or old clarino patches. A few years back I altered a pair of wranglers for a confirmed tight-free
fellow.
I cut out the inner leg portion from the crotch on down to the cuff and
replaced (slighty smaller section) it with light smooth leather and a foot
strap to keep things down tight. It was very successful and he wore out 2 pair.
