Re: [RC] Very young riders in AERC rides - Ed and Wendy Hauser
" You are missing the biggest difference, being that adults have the right
to make their own decisions, kids do not.
Karen"
That is why kids have PARENTS OR GUARDIANS. It is the PARENTS who know the
kids and are charged by law, custom, morals and religion to make decisions
for them. The government also has a charter to protect all residents of our
country. The discussion as to how much and from what goes on and on.
Personally, I would like to see the government spending less time and money
protecting me from myself, and more protecting me from enemies foreign and
domestic, but that is for a different list.
I do not remember any part of the AERC charter that said a
purpose of the AERC is to protect children. Horses yes, Children no.
By the way my feelings on parential responsibility, have nothing to do with
my judgement as to whether I think any particular person or child should do
a 100 mile ride.
