Re: [RC] Very young riders in AERC rides or at any rides - Charles

Last time I looked, they ran the same course and wear the same safety
equipment and so are under the same conditions. My kids haven't done NASTAR
    any time recently (older teens).

Adult skiers aren't passing them, but then it's because the race is for time
    going down a specific course.

They don't course off into the wilderness, but then from what I've read,
most rides follow preset trails. I know kids can follow ski trails really
well, especially with all the markers.

They get placings and awards based on time and runs and other factors.

Hell, I'll make a change in my proposal. Include a factor of punishment:
e.g. "if you bring a child on a ride and they are injured and need medical
treatment, you will be sanctioned and/or fined". Just come up with some
consequences. That way, you discourage idiot parents like the ones
described a few messages ago, and don't discourage those who have children
    capable of doing this.
