I have been mulling over in my mind how to say what I feel about this and
Barbara did it just fine.
When there are children out there being physically abused and killed at the
hands of their parents, who are we to meddle with those families who are
taking CARE of their children?  Sheesh...it is NONE of our business.  Better
for us to put our efforts into stopping true abuse and neglect of untold
numbers of children than meddle in the affairs of a few who ride endurance
with their parents or other sponsors... you may not like all situations and
perhaps not all children should be made to ride if they don't want to but it
should not be something that requires a rule... there are too many variables
to develop a blanket rule.  If we are going to go that far, then perhaps we
should also develop a rule that restricts horses over 20???  Cliffy's horse
was 29!!  My God, how abusive can you get?  (sarcasm for those who can't
read between the lines).  I think if it ain't broke, why fix it?
